ANTI RAGGING CELL

Anti Ragging Practice of familiarizing beginners with their seniors has now turned into a potent tool for ill-treating and punishing poor students if they fail to obey their seniors. Ragging is strictly prohibited in the college campus or outside. The senior students are advised and warned about the consequences of ragging and the fresher’s are counseled regarding the same. Anti Ragging Boards are put up in the College, Canteen and Hostel. Boards containing phone numbers to be contacted to complain about ragging are also put up at prominent places. Regular rounds are conducted in college, hostel and canteen and surprise raids are also conducted to check the menace of ragging. Undertakings are taken from both the student and parents not to indulge in ragging and any anti college activities. Strict action against offenders in the past has brought down the incidence of ragging to Zero.

Understanding from students and parents regarding prohibition of ragging as per the rules of the DCI are obtained regularly. Workshop/Seminars regarding prohibition of ragging is conducted in the college campus to bring about awareness.

The members of the anti ragging committee are available on call 24 * 7 for the assistance of any students in distress . students are made aware that ragging is a criminal offence under section Section 26 and the consequence amounting to

Cancellation of admission.

Suspension from attending classes.

Withholding/withdrawing scholarship/fellowship and other benefits.

Debarring from appearing in any test/examination or other evaluation process.

Withholding results.

Debarring from representing the institution in any national or international meet, tournament, youth festival, etc.

Suspension/expulsion from the hostel.

Rustication from the institution for periods varying from 1 to 4 semesters or equivalent period.

Expulsion from the institution and consequent debarring from admission to any other institution.
